My areas of expertise include knitting and innovative garment design, fashion technologies, functional apparel, responsive materials and adaptive design. I am passionate about teaching creativity and interdisciplinary design thinking, approaching fashion as a bonding element between art, science and business. My formal education includes BSc in Mathematics/ Computer Science from "Al.I.Cuza" University, Romania, MSc in Fashion Design from Drexel University, MBA with Marketing concentration from University of Delaware, and a PhD in Apparel, Merchandising and Design from Iowa State University.

For the past 10 years, I have been teaching apparel design and merchandising courses

for Drexel University, Syracuse University, and University of Delaware.

Part of a multicultural family, I travel often, and the study of fashion as a platform for cultural communication as well as economic prosperity keeps me engaged  and aware of the current issues of global citizenship.
